Its already January 2011.

The last time I blogged was before I went New Zealand. It didnt felt like it was a long time ago, although it has been more than 2 months. Time surely flies.

A great deal of things happened since then. I surely enjoyed New Zealand very much and I can't tell you how much I fell in love with the place. It was just absolutely amazing. It was certainly the best 3 weeks of my life. Definitely won't forget it.

All that happen in November and bits of December.

And now Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Of course, its another year now.

My 2010 was spectacular but I had a hunch that 2011 will not be a good one for me. In fact, it has just proven so.

I just hope that things will improve.

I can't understand why people are so hyped up about dates. 10/10/10 just pass and I feel that is just another day. People are getting married, venturing into new business or held special function or occasion on this day. Just like 09/09/09, what so special about it? Its just a day! Its not even new year or something. Does it hold a special spiritual meaning to this date? Or is it just a marketing gimmick to make everyone spend ridiculously huge amounts of money on this day?

Life with Girlfriend

Recently I just went for a short getaway in Genting with my uni mates. However, one of them whom is not single did not came along with us because his girlfriend was around in KL. Well, I'm not sure whether he did asked for permission or what but anyhow, he stayed in KL. This reminds me of the old days of me having a girlfriend, where my life was pretty much about my girlfriend and I had not much time with my guy friends.

Just imagine that you can't go out yumcha, pool, or anything at all. Maybe the occasional party that both girlfriend and you are able to attend. I don't know if there is another way of saying this, it takes away lots of the fun out of a 21 years old guy's life. Its like buying a computer which has no graphic card and no internet connection. You can't play any games. You can go on Facebook but its gonna be slow. You can't even watch HD movies.

No women shall deprive a man's desire to slaughter endless waves of zerglings!

Having said that, I'm sure there are tonnes of fun moments with the girlfriend. Kinky ones are the most probable one. hahaha. Ain't it? But everything got to have a degree of freedom. Even in physics and things in our daily lives have a certain degree of freedom. Although is a different of freedom but you get what I mean. Men wants space for himself. Its a fact. However, some will stray away but some will stay. So trust is ever so important, if there is none. Forget about everything and just play Starcraft 2!

Now that I'm single, I got lots of free time now. Way too much free time in fact. On the plus side, I can do as I please. But there is only so much that people can do in Malaysia. Nothing much to be honest. I'm staying in the wrong country. Nothing near me is nice to be photograph. Well, my passion is in landscape and KL aint much of a looker, the closest and nicest beach is towards the east coast. I should be living in New Zealand or Japan but the food in Malaysia is heaven. Can't leave just yet. XD

Back to the topic. Having a girlfriend is a commitment and not all 21 years old guys will be doing that because guys just dont want to be tied down until they are willing to do so. Having a girlfriend is also sacrifice. Shall not go into that. All these applies to the girl too but girls are more likely to commit than the guy which is a big problem when it comes to relationship. Both to need give and take, aye?

So for the time being, I will be not available to anyone. Not that I'm attached to anyone but I'm attached to my camera and its a good thing. :D

For the past 1 week

Sitting for exams

It has been tough

To get an idea how tough is it

Having studied everything, only 10% came out

Its ridiculously hard

I dont even know whether I can pass all the papers this semester

I'm scared

Prior to the exam have been looking forward to the vacation planned with my uni mates

Genting tomorrow and Penang next Tuesday

But after going through hell in the exam hall

All mood was gone :(

Am not as excited as before

Besides I'm getting the new lens today

Hmm that should be good

I hope :D

Just finished the travel plans for my New Zealand trip

All I need to do is to confirm with my EngEu and Henry

That's the one thing I'm most looking forward to!

But I need to decide whether to do the expensive ones

Money is the biggest issue >:(

These days has been pretty uneventful

I dont even know what to type right now

Exams starting next week and I barely started studying

Had a free dinner last night at Sunway Resort Hotel where I think i'm the only engineering student in that hall while everyone else studies tax/audit/accounts/business

I'm only looking forward towards the 4 months long holidays soon

Wished to have more girl friends HAHA

I think i'm turning gay, considering that 90% of my friends is of the male species

I cant stand the testosterone anymore!

So many things that I want to do

One thing that made me think. While studying the subject Artificial Intelligence, which is a software or application where it can think and reason by itself and it is applied to almost everything in our lives that so called help us humans to do certain tasks. For example, now airplanes have a function called auto-pilot. It is to fly the airplane without any assistance from the pilot which is very good especially for long haul flights. I can't expect the pilot to be at helm the whole time, its tiring!

Now, before I get into it. In AI, it suppose to think like a human but of course, this cannot be done yet. Human thinking and reasoning is more spontaneous and its very complex while AI is based on facts, numbers and rules. Based on these facts and rules, this AI is suppose to help human to do certain tasks.

So back to auto-pilot, its an AI system where it helps the pilot to fly the airplane. However, after watching an episode of Air Crash Investigation in National Geographic Channel, made me wonder whether that these AI system can truly be trusted upon fully. The scenario was that one of the two airplane speed indicators was giving a false reading but the pilot continue to fly with the working speed indicator. At the time, the pilot activated the auto-pilot as they were just cruising to altitude but the pilot did not realise that the auto-pilot system is actually using the false reading from the faulty speed indicator. (1 speed indicator was at 350 knots[false] while the other is 190 knots[true] )

This is where the AI system kicks in. The rule is, if the speed is too fast, pitch the nose up(this slows the plane down). Whereby in this case, it did. However, the true speed only 190 knots, almost at stalling speed, not 350 knots. If the plane was already moving at slow speed, given that the auto-pilot making it even slower. The plane will eventually stall, hence, fall out from the sky. Killing everyone on board.

AI systems only works perfectly when everything is in good order but it is hopeless when things are not properly in order.

So, computers or human better?
